About BUSSSA
Our Story
BUSSSA was born from a vision to unite and empower South Sudanese students at Buegema University, creating a home away from home while pursuing academic excellence.
Established in 2020, the Buegema University South Sudanese Students Association (BUSSSA) emerged from the collective desire of South Sudanese students to create a supportive community that would help them navigate their academic journey while maintaining strong connections to their cultural heritage.
What started as informal gatherings of a few students has grown into a vibrant organization that serves as a bridge between South Sudanese students and the broader university community. Our association provides academic support, cultural celebration opportunities, and a strong support network that helps students thrive in their educational pursuits.
Today, BUSSSA stands as a testament to the power of unity and shared purpose. We've successfully implemented various programs including:
- Peer mentorship programs connecting senior students with freshmen
- Regular academic support sessions and study groups
- Cultural festivals celebrating South Sudanese heritage
- Career development workshops and networking events
- Community outreach and service initiatives
As we continue to grow, our commitment remains steadfast: to support every South Sudanese student at Buegema University in achieving their academic goals while fostering a strong sense of community and cultural identity. We invite you to be part of our story as we work together to build a brighter future for our members and our nation.
