We, the South Sudanese & Sudanese students of Buegema University, in order to form a more perfect union, establish justice, promote academic excellence, and secure the blessings of education for ourselves and our posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the Buegema University South Sudanese Students Association (BUSSSA).
BUSSSA Constitution
Preamble
Article I: Name and Purpose
Section 1: Name
The name of this organization shall be the Buegema University South Sudanese Students Association, hereafter referred to as BUSSSA.
Section 2: Purpose
The purpose of BUSSSA shall be to:
- Promote unity and cooperation among South Sudanese & Sudanese students
- Provide academic and social support to members
- Preserve and promote South Sudanese & Sudanese culture
- Represent the interests of South Sudanese & Sudanese students
- Foster leadership development among members
Article II: Membership
Section 1: Eligibility
Membership shall be open to:
- All South Sudanese & Sudanese students enrolled at Buegema University
- Alumni of Buegema University who were members during their study period
- Honorary members as approved by the Executive Committee
Section 2: Rights and Responsibilities
Members shall have the right to:
- Vote in all BUSSSA elections
- Hold office if qualified
- Participate in all BUSSSA activities
- Access all BUSSSA resources and services
Article III: Executive Committee
Section 1: Composition
The Executive Committee shall consist of:
- President
- Vice President
- Secretary General
- Treasurer
- Academic Affairs Coordinator
- Cultural Affairs Coordinator
- Public Relations Officer
Section 2: Duties
Each officer shall perform the duties prescribed by this constitution and parliamentary authority.
Article IV: Elections
Section 1: Election Process
Elections shall be held annually through a democratic process.
Section 2: Eligibility
Candidates must:
- Be full-time students
- Maintain good academic standing
- Have been active members for at least one semester
Article V: Meetings
Section 1: Regular Meetings
Regular meetings shall be held monthly during the academic year.
Section 2: Special Meetings
Special meetings may be called by the President or by petition of one-third of the members.
Article VI: Finances
Section 1: Funding Sources
BUSSSA shall be funded through:
- Membership dues
- Fundraising activities
- Donations and grants
Section 2: Financial Management
All financial transactions shall be transparent and documented.
Article VII: Amendments
This constitution may be amended by a two-thirds vote of the members present at any regular meeting, provided that the amendment has been submitted in writing at the previous regular meeting.
Article VIII: Dissolution
In the event of dissolution, all assets shall be distributed to charitable organizations serving South Sudanese & Sudanese students.
